so, i don't usually do this, but because Comcast decided to ruin my life yesterday and NOT show up to fix my internet after a week of it being off, i decided to post my tuesday TODAY because the list is goddamn long and good.
so, i guess i should just go have a quick fag and get on with this, shouldn't i?
brb.
lol.
okay, have a list!
saving lives... so, my main excitement for being on the seaside this last weekend was the thought that i would be able to find many, many dead things... fish, barnacles, mussels... you know, the like. within my first couple of moments on the beach though, i was immediately alerted to the fact that there was a tiny, dying fish at our feet. my first reaction was to pick him up and save his tiny life, which is what i did. i'm pleased with myself for knowing that i saved that tiny little fishy life.
dashboard confessional... yep, they're emo, i'm emo and their lyrics make me swoon.
clam chowder... because PHWOAR! i had the greatest clam chowder in my life this weekend! like, it was SO fresh that the clams had been alive literally hours before i ate it! oh the yummies were EPIC!
water
will farrell
long car trips
the sea... i never, ever fail to become weepy within moments of seeing the sea for the first time. it's such an amazingly beautiful thing. i've decided that Muffin and i WILL retire there one day. i promise you that!
cabins
old hippies... for they nearly always have the best stories, things in their house and hair. i love them and perhaps am slightly jealous that i'm not more of a hippy.
oregon... i had my first for-realsies experience with oregon this weekend and it was incredible. i find it completely exciting that i could experience the sea AND the forest all in one place.
forests
seagulls
pygmy goats... so, in oregon we were driving home and i looked at a cutesy little fire station and saw a giant kennel sat outside which then led my eyes instantly to a furry creature that was not a dog, not a cat and not very immediately recognizable. it was only after several glances that i shouted for sarah to stop the car as OMGTHEREWEREGOATS! yeah. two goats. tied-up outside of a fire station. i pranced out of the car to play with them and photograph them before moving on the whatever the hell it was that made me squeal next.
sarah luna
randy luna
wine
handmade quilts
tea with real cream in... i don't care how fatty it is, i LOVE real cream and i love tea... mixing the two is literally like drinking some sort of heavenly beverage. i know with every sip that it's clogging my arteries, but i can't seem to go a morning without a big, fat cup or tea with sugar and cream in.
having my internet back... okay, so i actually don't know how i survived without it for the last week. i've had my mobile, but it's tiny and makes my fingers feel like they're gonna fall off. it's wonderful to have the internetz back and to be able to leisurely open twenty tabs of blogs, recipes and photos before finally trolling through them.
pork skins
oranges
my bed
Muffin's man-perfume
glittery nail polish
this feeling... i plan to blog about it, but i need to just say that now, today, things feel good. any hideous emotions i was feeling about Muffin-related things have completely vanished and i am existing today with a complete sense of peace and excitement.
finding new blogs i love... particularly when it's at random. i tend to be odd about finding other blogs because i have so much going on in my own head that i can't usually handle taking in any more information, but recently i've allowed myself to read more blogs and they've offered me a limitless amount of inspiration and glee.
swap-bot... an entirely-too-effective time-consumption hobby! it's amazingly fun and everyone should absolutely look at it and fall in love.
Angry Birds... cough. now, i'm NOT proud that i've completely fallen in love with this game, but hey, i have a LOT of spare time, in between applying for jobs. shut up.
cutting my nails and starting fresh... because for some magical reason, my nails totally adore getting brittle and gross very regularly, so periodically i like to just cut them all completely down and let them grow back in.
Muffin texts... for he is the sweetest, cutest boy in the land.
dollar stores
sitting on the porch, watching the rain
rubber ducks
Muffin's face
newborns
the sound of food coming out of tins
old latches
lambs
sea anemone
furry-looking trees... but only if the "furry" comes from moss. i heart moss an inappropriate amount.
most chowders... currently making bffs with my belly? sweet corn chowder. NOM!
split-pea soup
chocolate-chip muffins
sleepovers
seth rogan
i hope this delighted you. please have a magical week!
this is pretty much more than anyone would ever want to know about everything ever going on in my life which includes, but is not limited to endless love affairs with things, depression, baking, tattoos and general crap. i love mostly everything ever and i have no shame or filter on things i say or do. good luck with that.

soooo... i missed tuesday, have a list!
just a quick one... things were a little shite yesterday and i just didn't have it in me to do a list, but the list for the week was a BLOODY good one, so please, have it:
touching animal ears... impossibly soft and wonderfully different, from the veins to the furs, i love them.
ashley wedding photos
tacky items
iced water
vintage clothes
doing crunches
pina coladas
laundry fresh out of the dryer
going in the back garden with the dog... i love watching him prance and run around like a tiny deer. our grass is slightly longer than it should be and he prances in a special way to stop it from rubbing too much on his belly and thus, tickling it, so i love going and chasing him around, making him prance.
how fast my hairs are growing
trashy markets
Asian markets
stop-animation films
coming into bed to find Muffin and Booger cuddling together after a perfect twenty-sixth birthday... a birthday blog is coming, but it is important to note how special it was to come into the bedroom after washing my face and having a bath to find the two of them lying on the bed looking so cutesy and polite and it just made my heart feel so, so huge because those are MY boys and i love them.
the night Muffin played guitar and sang all of my favourite songs to me... i had just stepped out of the bath on tuesday evening and was prancing to the bedroom to get into as many layers as possible when he lured me in with his big blue eyeballs and a song i was familiar with. for the next twenty minutes he sang to me with his lips as close to mine as possible and kissed me as often as possible. it was magical and still makes me glee when i think about it.

it's NOT tuesday!
so... another week of being alive and another week of hearting... it has been a full-on week with lots of things getting done and lots of hearting going on, so i'll just get on with this thang...
OLD MAN: Excuse me, do you have 30pence i can borrow?
LADY: Unfortunately not. i don't have any change at all on me.
OLD MAN: Okay... 20pence?
LADY: Really, i have absolutely no change on me...
OLD MAN: 10pence?
LADY: i have nothing, sorry.
the old man looks the lady up and down suspiciously and walks away.
END SCENE-FADE TO BLACK
- beggars that try to bargain with you... so, true story, on my way home this afternoon a tramp came up to me and we acted out the following scenario...
- fictional books that are set somewhere you know... i am currently reading a book that is set in derby. it's about a serial killer and all that jazz, but it is just so exciting to have the author talking about all the places i go on a regular basis... places he has mentioned so far are markeaton mark, the eagle centre, normanton, uttoxeter new road and darley park. yay!
- the fact that i got ANOTHER email from augusten burroughs! yeah, that's right, he wrote me again. he wrote to apologize for not writing back sooner and saying that he is working on his list. yayz!
- THE radio... so, after four days of painstaking work and learning to embroider, i have finished the radio for alastair's photocomic. i love this radio more than anything i have ever made. SO excited to show it to pow pow tomorrow. he will weep.
- getting blood drawn... i don't know why, but i have always loved it... i love the waiting and the nervousness when you are sat in that chair whilst the nurse prepares the needles and then when you realize it doesn't hurt nearly as much as you thought it would.
- popping my neck... particularly when lots of people are around to hear it and become suitably disgusted.
- waiting to see what someone has planned for me... there were big plans for my day off monday. i baked, busted my bum to finished that radio and, obviously had the day off... this was mostly all in aid of spending the day working with ali and watching films... it had been planned for a period and as i had not heard anything from him, i assumed all things were go. i then got the text of doom on sunday evening saying that he could not do it and would make it up to me... said making up will be taking place tomorrow (friday) evening. watch this space.
- the way wasps legs dangle when they are flying around.
- the smell of lavender.
- the fact that it is thursday.
- spam.
- how stable i feel now.
- planning movie dates with people.
- the fact that i will get to see jaacq AND alastair's new videos tuesday! yay!
- ordering stationery.
- going to meetings.
- when my nails get really long.
- when i dream about someone i haven't seen or heard from in a long while.
- CHINESE BUNS!
- finishing a project.
- discovering new music.
- the history of prypiat, ukraine.

the abc's of hearting
i really need to focus on more positive things lately, so here we go with some massive hearting fun...
A - andrew jackson jihad... a band i cannot get enough of at the moment. if you haven't freaking heard them, for the love of god, go and listen to them right this fucking instant.

B - baking... great crap there is nothing i love more than creating the perfect baked good. i love it... all the flavours and variations and fun you can have baking and, my favourite part, watching people eat them. i derive an indescribable amount of joy from watching people eat my baked goods.
C - crocheting... most likely one of the things i enjoy doing only slightly more than baking. lately i have been on a mission to crochet some incredible artifacts for people that have stunned and delighted many. i can only get better from here, i hope.

D - dying my hairs... ever since i was given permission from a young age to do it i have been completely in love with all the aspects of dying my hair. from picking out the perfect colour to having people comment on how fabulous it looks, i love every bit of it.
E - eggs... i could eat them anytime all the time. they are so unbelievably tasty.
F - finding things... i love it when i am tidying and suddenly come across something that i forgot i have. it could be something as simple as a letter i started writing last year or a photo, but it really makes my day. it always seems that i find things that are apt for that particular moment to... like i find a picture my neice drew for me on a day when i realise i need to write her back.
G - gala darling... reading her site really inspires me and makes me feel incredibly uplifted. she always has such fabulously sparkly words to say and they seem to always be just what i need to read.
H - husband... especially lately, i have been realising how important he is... at the moment i can't help but feel useless and like i don't deserve any love but i have been given the most special gift of all, which is husband. he is the most special creature in the world. he has put up with so much shit from me and really stood by me through everything that i have put him through. i love him so much and that unconditional love is what i need at the moment.
I - ice... i LOVE ice in my drinks. the last couple of weeks have featured many a tall glass of water or soda filled with ice. for some reason, a glass of cola tastes like 2,239% better with slightly melted ice in it.
J - just sitting around... oh my do i loves me a bit of just sitting around time. i love to just relax and have nothing to do and nobody to harass me.

K - kisses... despite being horrifically independent at the moment, i do occasionally adore the random kiss from my husband-face. he gives the best face-kisses in the world.
L - lists... my lists are horribly important to me and i love them ever-so-much. i am awaiting a large amount of lists from places around the world, which will make my days.
M - makeup... i adore makeup... particularly eyeshadow. i love getting every colour i can and experimenting with it in as many ways as i can. it is so much fun and can create some beautiful end-results.

N - new shoes... i love it when i get a new pair of shoes that i have been lusting after for a while. i love putting them on and prancing around the house in them for a while and then going out of the house and getting comments on them (as i obviously only ever get the most fabulous shoes)
O - odd surnames... a short list of my favourite surnames (of people i know) is as follows:
Q - quirky trinkets... our house is full of them. i could never list them all but they are ever-so-much fun. i seem to have a special sixth sense that helps me to spy really strange, fun and delightful things that i can place in selected spots all over our house. i LOVE them.

R - rain... the last few days particularly, have been offering us rain in massive abundance and i am so pleased with it. i love to leave the windows open all over the house and just listen to it. it is so relaxing and omg does it create beautiful ripples in puddles whilst i am waiting for my ride to work in the mornings.

S - shrimps... i love them mostly as pets. they are the most amazing creatures to watch. i could literally sit and watch them all day long. a special mention should be made for the fact that i do enjoy eating them as well.
T - taxidermy... i don't know why, but there is just something special about dead animals that have been mounted in place for the rest of the world to see. i am obsessed with it and am trying to learn how to do this on my own so i don't have to pay the soul-destroying prices that commercial establishments want for it.

U - ugly dogs... oh my sweet mother of god i love ugly dogs. they are just the most stupendous, lovely, sweet creatures in the world. i have always found myself more drawn to ugly dogs over any other fluffy, tiny, button-nosed canine. i think they are special to me for the sole fact that they are not always the ones chosen first by other people, so i will take them and love them... they tend to have more character than any other dog anyways.
V - videos that remind me of my childhood.... i love it when i see a video online or in a shop that reminds me of the days from my childhood. especially of late, i have been on a desperate search for as many things from my childhood as possible. i think a lot of this is rooted in the fact that when i moved to england, i had to get rid of all of the books, videos and toys that i had been collecting for, well, my whole life. i suddenly have realised how many things i miss and want them all to be a part of my life again, so i am making it so. i went on a spree a couple of months ago and bought loads of videos (the brave little toaster, all dogs go to heaven, mi vida loca, rockadoodle, roseanne, clarissa explains it all and full house) and have been on the hunt for others (bebe's kids, high strung and the rest of full house). i suspect this will be a never-ending, but fabulous job. everything has such an individual, special memory for me.
W - windy days... i adore the days when i have to wear a jacket and get carried along by the wind. perhaps i love these days especially because they remind me of cheyenne. the ever-so-glorious wind that made wyoming what it was. i LOVE it when the wind is just right and means i am not too hot or cold. but even if it isn't perfect, it still has that magical quality to make you feel like you could be picked up at any moment and carried away, which i find to be very ec
X - xylophones... i have a particular soft spot for mine as it is perfect and small and beautiful, but i love all of them. it dates back to the days in elementary school when we would go to music class and one very lucky student was given those magical wooden wands to play the xylohone. i was very rarely that lucky student, but now i am that student every day!

Y - yarn... i adore all things yarn. i collect it like a crazy old woman. most of the yarn i have has been sitting in my bedroom, on a shelf, doing nothing for several years but i can't stop the compulsion to buy a fabulous colour or texture just in case if i see it on sale in a shop. it is a horrible sickness that drives husband absolutely insane. i typically have an idea for it when i buy it but tend to completely forget it when i actually get around to finding it again.

Z - zombies... OMG! i heart zombies like woah! i am totally in love with everything about them. i consume as much as possible about them as i find it interesting to see all the different ways that people approach them in film, book and photo. there are so many variations and approaches that i could just... well... i don't know. they are just so fun and interesting and offer so much variety.

i heart things and things NOT tuesday
so... time has been getting the better of me in the last couple of weeks due to all the faeces that has been raining on me. i'm just gonna pour these ones out at random and see what forms...
enjoy the cosmic sausages...
- sewing... i have been participating in a massive amount of repairing and general running-up in the recent weeks. coats, shirts, dresses and even the pig skin. i have been really focussing a lot of my energy on creating things rather than destorying things (relationships, chris's things, my body, etc) and it has made me feel increidibly
splendid.
- baking! my baking endeavours have been taking on all new forms since i started to experiment with different ingredients. the most recent endeavour were the dark chocolate and peanut butter cupcakes i made today, which ended up being just like angels wrapped up in chocolate. the amount of amazing contained in these tiny pieces of heaven could not be surmounted by anything at the moment. never before have i been able to identify with the people who claim their ridiculous obsessions with chocolate via badge, shirt or otherwise until today. i now know how special chocolate is because i can create things that make my tummy go 'weee!' with delight.
- tracey meek... i have been attempting lately to... i want to use the word 'culturize'... myself via art. since my visit to london last weekend i have been inspired to investigate new realms of art... mostly graffiti, but tracey has really hit me hard with the simplicity that she approaches things with. check it out and delight yourself!
- inspirational websites... i have been almost entirely existing on websites that offer me suggestion and inspiration. a list in no particular order is as follows... seven questions that will prevent regret, feeling sexy in an unsexy world, brush off failures, the tea drinking english rose and a cup of jo...
- making birthday plans! obviously, my birthday is in like, 33 days, so i have been having to plan like a planning fool. the most current (and most exciting) plan (ever) at the moment features myself and chris going to bratislava, slovakia to visit claire and mark. we would go for a week and just prance around the markets and generally make a lot of music. the exchange rate at the moment is 39 slovak koruna to the pound, so that makes me think that my birthday would be the best thing ever. but we shall see...
- sleeping (A LOT!), trying to sort out my problems, hannah, stretching my ears, bleaching my hairs, the cosmic sausages, salami, painting my nails, the little mermaid, crochetting, lists, water, collecting ring pulls, planning new hobbies, taxidermy...
enjoy the cosmic sausages...

i heart things and things NOT tuesday
you know, every so often i get excited about a giant amount of things before the week is out and i just cannae hold it in or i will forget all of it and then the list on tuesday runs the chance of being barren.
so as a result, on the occasion that my delight cannae be controlled, i am now implementing 'i heart things and things NOT tuesday!' hooray!
on to hearting!

- Japanese R
estaurants... on our last night in brighton, husband and i had a wee date at a tiny japanese restaurant and MYGOD it was the best ever. like, usually, when you go into a chinese restaurant the waitresses are large and moody. they make it seem like you are inconveniencing them in some way because you would like to ingest food. well, at this restaurant (which, for some reason i cannae find the name of) the waitresses were all the tiniest japanese women you have ever seen in your life and they just pranced around and smiled the most precious smiles ever. it was like all the cutest little japanese schoolgirl stereotypes all rolled into one when you saw them. so friendly and oh so precious. and the meal... OMG the meal! it was like, the best thing ever. it was a prawn den ricebowl with like, the best white excitement ever tossed all over the top. the rice was perfect and the honey ribs and prawn tempura was to die for. i was mostly the most pleased ever. no, really. it was just amazing. - the sea. i have now grown to realise that if i do not liv
e by the sea at least once in my life i will have not lived to the fullest of my capacity. being from midwestern america, i was never privy to the joys of excess humidity and the saltiest water in the world, but i took advantage of the sea whilst i was there much like a randy college boy would were he to see a drunken, passed-out paris hilton laying on his couch. i wept upon first glance of it. we drove by it on the minibus and i just welled up (which is nothing THAT exciting, as i seem to be weeping at every single thing, ever at the moment). upon arrival at our hotel, we settled in, unpacked and depa
rted for a prance around a city that held no familiarity with us. we were with two other people and i could barely contain myself from just running away from them and flying into the sea fully-clothed. instead, though... i contained myself long enough to allow us to get some cupcakes and cider for an afternoon of amazing delight. the cupcakes were perfect, the cider was icy and the sea was producing all the best sounds in the world. we met up with gem and mel after their meal and returned to our posts at the seafront with more cider and fish and chips for some pre-wedding chats and generally to enable us to breathe in as much of the most beautiful air in the world. due to the amount of booze cat and i had drunk, we decided to go paddling in the sea only to decide that our calves getting wet was not nearly enough, so we moved in further so our thighs were participating... soon, though... that was not enough. we needed to become a part of the sea and we sat in and the sea just hugged us like i have never been hugged in my life. it covered us and it was the warmest and loveliest experience ever.
i honestly cannot recommend the sea any more than OMG you NEEDZ to go NOW!! it is the best thing ever. OMG! - orangina. never before have i drunk orangina, but i have decided that after i saw the following advert on telly that i have no choice but to drink it almost constantly... please watch and enjoy...
- swapping things... again!! so, i have received another swap and i just can
not stress how much fun it is! this time i have swapped with a girl in florida and she has sent me the largest box of delights ever. as you can see from the photo there are oreo cakesters, chef boyardee ravioli pots, almond joys, maple syrup and grape delight! i have almost never been happier in my life. it is just the best thing ever to get parcels and to open them and just... well... it's just like christmas. i cannot explain how amazing it is. i will be sending her stuff off tomorrow and it is just as much fun from my end. you get to imagine what this person that you do not know would enjoy. i just love to be able to share all the delights that are in england with other people who are NOT here. it is so fun!
- honourable mentions... american treats aplenty, coke, my goldfish, cupcakes, popping spots, when i overhear classic conversations (an example is when we were walking down the street in brighton and we overheard a lady arguing with a shopkeeper and she decided it would be fair to say the following... 'fuck off back into your shop and suck your mutha's cunt!' yeah... classic, indeed), maple syrup, rik mayall, cheesecake, chevy, alan carr...
